Confined behind walls,

Sealed in by stress.

We become narrow-minded,

And full of regret.

A conceited sense of control…

The roof is within our reach,

But the sky is not.

You can switch on a light,

But not a sunset.

Foolishly we attempt to please,

Everyone in our walled world.

Disdaining the waves,

That humbly kiss our feet.

No footprints form,

On the hard concrete floors.

We forget where we came from,

And to Whom we must

Step out of the walls,

And surrender yourself.

Before the waves of your life,

Break upon the shores

Of death.

This is beautifully written, this life really is to short to worry about petty things. I think nature brings us back to our creator and what is truly important in our lives. Thanks for the inspiring post.
